| Gap | Real or just not found | Searched with |
|---|---|---|
| Activation-level "AI meditation" (model regulates its own state by attention, not injection) | Real, as far as 4+ wordings show; all prior contemplative-AI work is prompt-only | LLM meditation, AI meditation contemplative practice, mindfulness prompting LLM, contemplative artificial intelligence |
| Success-contrast steering on long-horizon coding agents with 30B+ open models | Real; published work stops at 14B and text-game or math tasks | 7 wordings including success vector agent rollouts, contrastive trajectories SWE-bench, flow state activation steering |
| How a steered behaviour policy affects forgetting | Real; RL's Razor names off-policy RL as unstudied | Direct from the paper |
| Oscillation or limit cycles in a pretrained LLM's residual stream | Probably real; only dynamical-systems wordings tried, not "recurrence quantification" or "power spectrum of hidden states" | transformer neural oscillations phase coding; LLM hidden state attractor Lyapunov |
| Controlled test of meditate-style prompts on reasoning accuracy or hidden states | Real; only one anecdote and two self-report or safety studies | breathing prompt, mindfulness LLM anxiety, meditate prompt |
| Human: does breath-focus meditation increase respiration-brain coupling? | Real per a 2023 review that notes no data; our search was brief | respiration-brain coupling meditation |
| Human: any link between groove entrainment and flow | Not found | groove flow entrainment |
Limits of this report. Several neuroscience papers sat behind bot checks and were read as abstracts or press summaries (Zelano, Brewer, Lutz, REBUS). The Claude 4 system card's bliss section could not be fetched, so its frequency figures are unverified. Thirty key citations were spot-checked against their pages; eight needed small corrections, which are applied above.
Every claim above links its source inline. The ones to read first:
